Getting Started with Wicked Alt Text AI

Welcome to Wicked Alt Text AI!  We’re so glad you’re here and want to help you get the most out of our plugin.

Installing Wicked Alt Text AI

After you’ve purchased Wicked Alt Text AI, you will receive an order confirmation email with a link to download the Wicked Alt Text AI plugin along with a license key.  Follow these steps to install the plugin on your site:

  1. Use the link provided in the order confirmation email (or on the order confirmation page after signing up) and download the Wicked Alt Text AI plugin to your computer
  2. Log into your WordPress site and go to Plugins > Add New
  3. Click Upload Plugin, click Browse, choose the plugin file that you saved in step 1, and click Install Now
  4. Once the plugin has finished installing, click Activate Plugin

Now that the plugin is installed and activated, you need to activate your Wicked Alt Text AI license and enter an OpenAI API key.

Activating Your Wicked Alt Text AI License

After you’ve installed and activated the plugin on your website, you need to enter your license key in order to use the plugin.  Go to the Wicked Alt Text AI page in the WordPress admin, click Settings, copy/paste your license key into the License Key field and click Activate.

Setting Up an AI Connector

Wicked Alt Text AI uses WordPress’ AI connector functionality to generate alt text using your preferred AI provider.  If you haven’t done so already, you need to configure an AI connector for your site by visiting Settings > Connectors.

Installing Wicked Alt Text AI on Additional Sites

If you purchased an unlimited site license you can use Wicked Alt Text AI on as many sites as you like.  Simply repeat the steps above to install the plugin on additional sites.
